Is It Worth Repairing ? Print

Horders carry out repairs to washing machines, washer dryers, tumble dryers, dishwashers, ovens, cookers, hobs and extractors for many popular brands.

Your appliance is well past its guarantee period; its been good and reliable, but something has now gone wrong.

You don't want to throw a perfectly good item away if it can be fixed; but at the same time you don't want to waste your money on a repair that may just not be economical to carry out.

appliance Repair

This is the problem faced by many of our customers and one we can help you with.

We will always give what help we can over the phone without obligation.

Some faults are fairly straightforward and can be readily diagnosed from your description of the problem in which case its a case of pricing up the likely parts and labour and providing an estimate. More often the fault could be attributable to one or a number of separate problems and the likely cause and costs cannot be easily given.

Calling out an engineer is expensive; some manufacturers charge over £100 for a call out, so what should you do?

At Horders we make the following provision; if we cannot be sure of the likely costs without a visit we can send out our engineer to carry out an inspection and check. They will cost up the repair and will also tell you whether, in their experience, a repair would be advisable based on the make, age and condition of your machine.

Our engineers have more than 40 years experience and Horders have been a family business since 1963 so we have lots of experience and have been trusted Miele service agents for 50 years.

If you go ahead with the repair its carried out at the price quoted, we have a minimum repair charge of £75 inc VAT and that repair is guaranteed for 12 months. But please bear in mind, older products have more frequent failures and a different fault or component failure would not be subject to our guarantee.

If you decide against a repair you pay us a flat inspection charge for the visit; currently £50 inc VAT. If you then decide to replace your appliance with one bought from Horders the £50 inspection charge you have paid is deducted from the list price of the new item so you do not lose out*.

You will be pleasantly surprised how competitive we are so if it does come to having to replace rather than repair we will inspect, supply, install and remove your old machine at an all-in unbeatable price.
